Today the girls and I spent the day at the Denver Botanical Gardens. They are taking Summer classes with the Seedlings Group - how cute of a name is that?
Today's class was all about Monet, Giverney, and the style in which he painted. We met at the gazebo and listened to a story about a little girl that visited with Monet and asked him all about his garden.
Of course this is my small one standing.
Than we walked about the Monet Garden and found settings that were created to replicate some of the Masters' paintings.
And last, but certainly not least, we did watercolors of what we thought Monet had seen in his time ....

How cool is that??? One of the things that we miss being in a very rural area, fun activities like that. Bug would love to go to something like that. Those girls are too cute for words. :)

We just left Denver yesterday and I miss it already. I have family in Littleton so we were there for a 5 day visit. Colorado is beautiful; I could live there easily.
I've always loved Monet's paintings...what a fun, educational experience for your little ones!

i got to see the monet of the waterlillies in chicago this fall for the first time and i was in love.
it was so much prettier than i thought it would be.
even i would love to sit and paint that.
so cool.

Hey Meg - Thanks for visiting! You lucky girl you. I would love to see any paintings that Monet painted from Giverny. I've seen a lot of his early paintings but none of the Water Lillies ....
